New Med-IT Online Medical Information Tracking System
Goes Live
July 7th marked a day of celebration at the
Bellevue, Nebraska headquarters of McCallie Associates, Inc. After years of preparation, Med-IT, a web
based online medical information tracking system, went live for the State of
Washington. For several years the State
of Washington has been a customer of McCallie, using a desktop version of their
Breast and Cervical Cancer Data Management System. On July 7th they were the first customer to switch
over to the new web-based system. When
Med-IT was being developed, the main goal was to provide a state of the art,
secure, web-based system to track Breast and Cervical Cancer screening records
for the various states Health and Human Service departments. This concept has now grown to include
additional chronic diseases, such as colorectal and cardiovascular disease. Med-IT has been created to grow as the needs
of McCallies customers grow.
The Centers for Disease Control requires each state,
tribe, or territory participating in the National Breast and Cervical Cancer
Early Detection Program to manage and track screening and diagnostic services
for women enrolled in the program. Med-IT streamlines this process allowing
for statewide access to the health system through a secure, state of the art
web application. States have been tracking
Breast and Cervical Cancer screenings since the mid 90s. CDC is now requiring similar reports for
colorectal and cardiovascular. As the
requirements change for the states, so will McCallies Med-IT system.
Med-IT was designed and developed by McCallie
Associates, Inc at their Bellevue location.
McCallie, winner of numerous local and national awards, is also known
for their 25+ years of support to the US Air Force at Offutt AFB, and to US
Strategic Command and various DoD agencies throughout the United States.
