McCallie History

McCallie Associates, Inc. was founded in 1982 by Mr. Bob McCallie, who immediately established goals for his company and his people, alike.  Originally created as a recruiting company to provide professional and mission-quality personnel to large businesses who supported the Strategic Air Command (SAC) and then later, United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), Mr. McCallie’s focus was to develop a culture where fair business practices mixed with honest, professional and expertly qualified personnel would not only succeed, but thrive.  As the Company matured, Mr. McCallie exploited a gap he noticed in the Information Technology and Engineering services provided to SAC—this resulted in McCallie’s first prime government contract with SAC to assist in building their first-ever Local Area Network.  There would be many other primes and teaming opportunities in the following years.

In 2000, upon Ms. Maassen’s ascension to President & CEO, McCallie became a certified woman-owned and controlled small business by the National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC). As CEO, Ms. Maassen began expanding McCallie's IT support services to States and Tribal departments who provide public health services to underserved women across the nation. McCallie Associates, Inc. is proud to be a member of the team fighting breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer, and promoting wellness through our data management systems supporting CDC National Screening Programs. Based on this passion to help women, Ms. Maassen's desire to make a difference in the world, and recent successes in supporting the State and Tribal health programs, prompted her to stand up OxBow Data Management Systems as a wholly owned subsidiary in 2009.  Ms. Maassen also mentored the start-up of a small Veteran Owned Business called Veteran Defense Services, Inc. (VDSI) which focused on hiring veterans—she later acquired VDSI as a wholly owned subsidiary.
