Breast and Cervical Cancer Data
Management System
BCCDMS
is an integrated data management system developed in cooperation with the
Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and has been in use since
1993. It was developed in response to
the need of state departments of health to automate the screening, tracking,
follow-up, case management and provider reimbursement for individuals enrolled
in the Center for Disease Control (CDC) nationwide Breast and Cervical Cancer
Early Detection Program.
Features:
- Flexible screening
cycles: unlimited screening cycles per client; records screening results;
diagnostic procedures and treatment
- Detailed billing
authorization: verifies documentation receipt and CPT codes; determines
allowable payment limits; tracks allocated funds
- Generates the Centers
for Disease Control (CDC) Minimum Date Elements (MDE) file according to
current CDC requirements
- Produces Demographic,
Follow-Up, and Funding Status Reports
- Detects
and tracks high-risk clients
As a public health data system,
BCCDMS forms the foundation for annual patient reminders, tracking, and
follow-up services provided through the program, as well as providing
statistical data to the Federal program administered by the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC). Another component of this integrated system
is provider reimbursement. McCallie designed and developed the system to
enable individual claims to be tracked from receipt until payment, keeping a
running balance of each provider's contract. The system authorizes or
disallows payments based on an individual set of requirements and provides a
detailed summary of payments to the providers.
McCallie Associates also
developed a proprietary total management solution that combines BCCDMS with
document management, data collection software, and Internet capability.
This solution provides greatly expanded flexibility and enormous functionality
to BCCDMS users. We market the customization of total solutions
nationally to BCCEDP program managers and administrators
